We've just published a daily bible reading plan that will take you through the bible in one year. While the first and the last books of the Bible are in correct chronological position, some of the other books require a shuffling of order so that they follow the historical timeline. Reading Scripture historically, unfolds the sequence of events of God’s Word as they occurred. This gives the reader a more systematic understanding of His Word and His redemptive plan of history. This format allows the reader to go through the Word in one year averaging three chapters daily. At times, In the O.T., the reader will be in Genesis, then go to Job and back to Genesis. Likewise, the N.T. readings in Acts, will flow back and forth in the various epistles. This accounts for the periods of time when the spreading of the gospel was endeavored by many of God’s called people: Paul, Peter, James, John, etc., by the inspired writings of the Holy Spirit.
